Owen Weaver

Percussionist Owen Weaver is an intensely focused performer who combines the forces of rhythm, noise and silence in the search for the musical potential in everyday life. He uses recycled objects, homemade instruments and electronic sounds to construct a kaleidoscopic sound universe that combines original music and improvisation, often in collaboration with leading composers of our time. He has toured Europe, South America, Asia and USA with Mantra Percussion, Glenn Branca Ensemble, NEWSPEAK among others, and he has been part of Grammy-nominated Conspirare's PBS TV production A Company of Voices. In 2018, Owen received his PhD in Percussion from the Hartt School. He lives near Bergen where he plays with BIT20 Ensemble.
